Lorenzo linthout
Lorenzo Linthout

He was born in 1974 in Verona, the city where he lives. He start taking pictures at the age of sixteen; at the age of twenty four he graduated from the “Biagio Rossetti” Faculty of Architecture at the University of Ferrara. He combines his studies with the concept of photography portraying silence in the urban jungle through a constant work of subtraction, to bring it back to a lexical sobriety, to an absence of structural noise and stylistic redundancy; his images are very far from reality and are characterized by the absence of any visual disturbance and everything that belongs to reality, cleaned and stripped of any contextual trace and excess of form. In his photographic vision, architecture appears “silent and quiet”, sometimes illuminated by the light of the sky, which often becomes an aseptic background and represents the silence that has the task to enhance the empty space. Recently his photographs have been on display in over one hundred  personal and collective exhibitions in Italy, France, Switzerland, Poland, England, Luxembourg, Germany, Hungary, Montenegro, Slovenia, Croatia and Albania. Since 2012 he has collaborated with the American agency Art + Commerce based in New York, since 2014 with the magazine “A. V. – Verona”. In February 2017 he published his first book “Architectural visions“.

Always passionate about art and communication phenomena, in 2012 she decided to move from the theoretical study of photography as an expressive medium to the practice of photographic technique applying daily with passion and committment to different genres. Her idea of photography is that of a multiple expressive and catalysing dimension of meanings, capable of creating a dialogue between oneself and the surrounding world and then again between the image and those who benefit from it. What should emerge in photography should be the ability to deconstruct and restructure alternative and / or possible visions, linking the outside world and experience with a more personale and intimate reality.  Self-taught, she is trained through the daily work of many authors, whom she considers to be teachers, with whom every sharing, discussion, becomes an opportunity for growth.
